BSA Presents National Geographic Society with 2015 Sustainability Award

IMG_7270On Tuesday, October 27, the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) presented a 2015 Sustainability Award to the National Geographic Society. The award was accepted by the Society’s Chief Science and Exploration Officer, Terry Garcia at the BSA’s LeaderSHIFT Forum in Washington, D.C.

The Sustainability Award is presented by BSA to recognize companies exhibiting notable sustainability efforts. The award was given during the BSA’s virtual sustainability event, that was broadcast live from the National Geographic Society Headquarters.

This year’s event featured presentations from the National Geographic Society, and also included local breakout sessions where leaders, donors, and volunteers discussed what they can do to help make their community more sustainable.

You can still view the LeaderSHIFT forum online and use the Council Sustainability Resource Guide.
