Scouts Looking for Eagle Project Ideas Have a New Resource

As they consider Eagle project ideas during the planning stages for an Eagle Scout project, many Scouts run through a series of thoughts about what might work. Indeed, part of the process requires a Scout to weigh a number of options concerning feasibility and logistics for any particular project.

And sometimes Scouts need one or more backup Eagle project ideas to help ensure that they have options should they encounter impassible roadblocks on their initial project.

Additionally, some Scouts are just looking for a place to begin their preparation. To assist with this, Boys’ Life magazine has just introduced the Eagle Project Showcase, a repository of Eagle project ideas that could be a great starting place for a Scout looking for ideas.

The Eagle Project Showcase offers more than 100 ideas and examples of real Eagle Scout projects completed by Scouts. Each project includes a photo and details on the challenges faced in the completion of that particular project. It’s information that other Scouts will find valuable as they weigh the potential difficulties in their own Eagle project ideas.

Visitors looking for Eagle project ideas can search the showcase by keyword, category, or location, making it a database of sorts that is easily searchable for those seeking particular types of projects.

The examples in the showcase also offer a look at the good work Eagle Scouts do for their communities. Each year, tens of thousands of Eagle Scout candidates complete projects in their communities. While the showcase currently features only a handful of those thousands, it will continue to grow, and it serves as an excellent jumping off point for those interested in learning more about the benefits of Scouting and the path toward Eagle Scout.
