Watching her Eagles soar

L to R:  Sean Carroll, Robert Carroll, and Michael Carroll // Photo Courtesy of Current in CarmelI know there are many proud parents out there who have watched one or more of their sons achieve Scouting’s highest rank – the Eagle Scout Award – but I just had to share this brief story sent to me about a proud Mom in Carmel, CA.

Michelle Carroll has seen all three of her sons – 19-year-old Sean, 17-year-old Robert and 14-year-old Michael – earn their Eagle. Her sons are members of Troop 132 in Carmel, part of the Monterey Bay Area Council.

This is a terrific achievement in itself, but I wanted to share some of the observations Michelle shared with a reporter with the Current in Carmel about how she has seen her sons grow up along the path to Eagle:

“Any opportunity that comes out they’re willing to say, yeah, I’m going to try and do that. It’s just being able to be open to do those things and I think through Scouting that’s helped them a lot.”

“The life skills my boys have learned through Scouts put my mind at ease,” she added. They will be prepared for whatever comes their way.” Read more
